Employees of SPC RAS conducted a masterclass on ground-based robotics at the Military Academy

// description

On April 3, Ekaterina Cherskikh and Kirill Shokurov held a master class "Demonstration of the operation of a ground-based robotic platform for online programming of multifunctional robots with a distributed sensor system in Python using a specialized track" at the Military Academy of Communications as part of the seventh All-Russian computer science competition Infotechquest.
The participants of the master class were high school cadets. The students were given a lecture on the theoretical foundations of robot control, on the devices used by robots and their application in various fields — from manufacturing to households. The internal structure of the demonstrated robotic platforms and the principles of operation of the devices used by the robot are considered in detail.
Then the participants were given the opportunity to independently control robots using a cloud platform for writing and implementing software code on robots. The guys were offered two tasks to solve — writing code in such a way that the robot moves along a white line located on a black surface, and writing code for passing a maze with dead ends. After the successful implementation of the tasks, the participants were shown the possibility of manually controlling the robot to monitor the telemetry of its devices.
