SPC RAS participated in the festival "To the museum - today, to science - tomorrow!"

// description

On March 29, a master class "Demonstration of the operation of a ground–based robotic platform for online programming of multifunctional robots with a distributed sensor system in Python using a specialized track" was held at the St. Petersburg FIT RAS site as part of the annual festival "To the Museum – today, to Science - Tomorrow!".
Employees of the APC and TBDSS laboratories, Ekaterina Cherskikh and Maxim Letenkov, told the participants of the event about the applications of robots, their internal structure and algorithms of operation, as well as on the basis of a complex for teaching programming to ground robots, they introduced schoolchildren and their parents to the basic principles of peripheral devices, with which the robotic platform navigates in space and performs tasks. tasks are offline.
In the interactive part of the master class, the operation of peripheral devices of the ground-based robotic platform was demonstrated by reading data from IR sensors for movement along the line, as well as analyzing information from ultrasonic sensors to determine the distance to obstacles and navigate through the maze.
The participants of the festival independently controlled ground robots, observing changes in the indicators of the devices in question: sensors, motors and technical vision.
